Archbishop Stepinac High School

welcome / apply

If you are considering Archbishop Stepinac High School, the Admissions Office is here to help you.

Stepinac encourages students in their pursuit of academic excellence; exposes students to various cultures in our diverse global community; and helps students develop the skills needed to meet the challenges of the future.

We accept students who have the academic potential to succeed in a college preparatory program and who are willing to challenge themselves in rigorous courses and in a variety of extracurricular activities.

Classes that challenge you to think critically, a supportive and nurturing environment, and teachers who are dedicated to your success make Stepinac unique. A well developed extracurricular activities program complements the academic program.

The first step in the application process is to fill out a formal application (pdf). But if a student has taken the Test for Admission into Catholic High Schools (TACHS) examination, he does not need to fill out the formal application. The TACHS scores and applicant record are sufficient.

Admission to the ninth grade is based primarily on successful performance on the TACHS exam administered each year and the student's expressed desire to attend Stepinac High School. Students attending Catholic, private or public schools can obtain the TACHS application from their home school. In selecting students for admission all three choices indicated on the TACHS are considered.

For more information about TACHS, visit Stepinac’s TACHS code is 122.

If a student does not take the TACHS exam, acceptance to Stepinac requires a personal interview with Patsy Manganelli, Director of Admissions. The following documentation is required: application, a recommendation form from a Guidance counselor, a copy of the 7th and 8th grade report cards along with a $50 application fee.
